So if you read the last book of Seeker, The Longest Day, then you are familiar with Nanulak and his last dramatic appearance in the book. After the incident in the Island of Shadows, Nanulak tracked down the Seeker Bears trail until it lead him to the Great Bear Lake where he would begin to take on his revenge. While telling wicked lies about Toklo to Aiyanna, he comes face to face with Toklo himself and begins to fight him. They knock over what was likely a griller, starting a forest fire. While all of the bears are rushing to Akocha's cave to escape the flames, Nanulak appears again and attacks Toklo with sheer hatred and the intention to kill. He falls over, however, hitting his head against a rock and cracking open his skull. Toklo attempted to save him, but with a burning tree between the two bears, there was nothing he could do. He left Nanulak behind to burn in the flames, at that is the last of Nanulak we see.
If you hate Nanulak, then, by all means, keep your opinion. But I just what to say that I feel kind of bad for him. I mean, I know what he did; disrespecting the other bear other than Toklo, leaving Lusa trapped in a snowdrift without trying to help or even calling for help, tricking Toklo into almost killing his own father, and ruining the fishing tournament for the brown bears at the Great Bear Lake. I know that Nanulak is a spoiled brat who isn't thankful for who he is, but when I reached the part where Nanalak was dying, I just felt a sudden stab of sympathy for him and felt that even though he was a bad person (a bad bear I mean), he didn't deserve death, just like how Tigerstar dies in Warriors. But there was nothing that could be done that could save Nanulak from his fate.
I think that maybe, in his last moments, Nanulak managed to see the wrong of his decisions and maybe even forgave all of the bears that he did wrong to and I that it would only be fair if we forgive him for his sins as well. I also thought of another thing. I know that Seeker already ended a long time ago, but I was thinking that there could be a book where it explains Nanulaks side of the story all the way to his death where his spirit meets Ujurak. After Ujurak talks some sense into Nanulak's wrong, he could go apologizing to all of the bears that he did wrong to, and could finally be at rest. Like a Super Edition for Seekers. I know that sounds like a lot to ask for, but I'm sure it will be worth it.
So basically to sum it up, even though Nanulak is not the best bear in Seekers, he is definitely not the worst, so, Forgive Nanulak.
