Longsleep is the bear term for hibernation.

Fire in the Sky

Lusa nearly falls into longsleep several times due to lack of food and the cold, but she is quickly revived by the other bears who remind her of their mission.

Spirits in the Stars

Lusa continues to fight longsleep when the bears head back to the ice.

Polar bears and grolar bears living on the ice don't fall into longsleep, since they are used to the cold.
