Moose are a deer-like animal found in North America and Europe.
General Information[]
- Moose are a large species of deer and elk. They have shaggy coats that can range from light brown to almost black. Males (called a 'bull') are larger and heavier then the female (called a 'cow'), with a rack of antlers. Females lack antlers and are lighter and smaller. Young moose (called a 'calf') do not have antlers until they get older, unless they are female.[1]
- Moose can be found in North America,[2] Europe.[3] A first attempt to introduce moose into New Zealand failed, in 1900, but was reattempted again in 1910. However, the last proven sighting was 1952, but a hair sample from New Zealand in 2002 was that of a moose, hinting that a very small hidden population may remain.[4]
History[]
In the Return to the Wild arc[]
River of Lost Bears[]
- A moose helps the group free the trapped spirit trees. Kallik, Lusa and Toklo believe it was Ujurak, but Yakone just thinks that it was an ordinary moose.
