- Nanulak's father was seen when Nanulak says to the Seekers that he was the bear who attacked him. Toklo attacks Nanulak's father and pins him down, and as Nanulak runs out, telling Toklo to finish him off, Nanulak's father cries out to Nanulak, and Toklo is shocked to learn that the bear he attacked was Nanulak's father, and had never hurt Nanulak at all.
- Even though he, Toklo, and his grizzly bear mate offer Nanulak help, Nanulak refuses, and runs away, furious with him and Toklo.
