These notes are brief, noting major events and minor events that will be of consequence later.
These are intended to be used as a reference for those looking for specific events for re-reading and the likes.
Chapter 1
- Nisa tells Kallik and Taqqiq about the Great Bear Legend.
- Nisa teaches Kallik and Taqqiq to hunt.
- A male polar bear takes their prey
- They find a dead gray whale and they eat it.
- A piece of the ice breaks away.
Chapter 2
- Lusa and Yogi explore the Bear Bowl.
- Stella tells a few stories, including the story of the bear tree.
Chapter 3
- Toklo gets in trouble on the BlackPath.
- Toklo feels that Tobi is getting in the way.
- Toklo leads Oka and Tobi to a grain pile.
- Oka decides to take Toklo and Tobi over the mountains.
Chapter 4
- Nisa catches some seal cubs.
- Nisa decides they have to leave the ice.
- Nisa gets killed by orcas while taking Kallik across a break in the ice.
Chapter 5
- King teaches Lusa to climb trees.
- Lusa climbs to the top of the tree and sees the rest of the zoo.
- Lusa asks King and Stella about the other animals in the zoo.
- Ashia and Lusa pretend they are in the wild.
Chapter 6
- Oka teaches Toklo about fishing and the water spirits.
- Toklo, Tobi, and Oka begin to climb the mountain.
- Oka decides they can stay on the mountain until the morning.
- Tobi dies from his sickness.
- Oka is mad at Toklo for not helping him.
